Salezilla Review: A Promising Tool That Fell Short on Delivery
Cold email outreach is the lifeblood of B2B sales—when it works. When it doesn’t, you’re left with wasted time, frustrated teams, and a shrinking budget. That’s exactly what happened with Salezilla.
On paper, Salezilla sounds like a dream: AI-powered lead generation, 99% accuracy claims, and the ability to launch campaigns in under 30 minutes. But in reality, our experience was plagued by missed deadlines, poor communication, and ultimately, zero results.
The Promise vs. The Reality
1. Lead Generation: Zero ROI
Salezilla’s biggest selling point is its AI-driven lead generation, promising highly accurate contact lists. Unfortunately, after six months of use, we didn’t get a single lead—not one. For a platform that claims 60-70% open rates and 7.4% reply rates (far above industry averages), this was baffling.
We provided clear targeting criteria, but the leads either didn’t match our ideal customer profile or simply didn’t engage. When we asked for adjustments, the response was slow and unhelpful.
2. Communication Nightmares
Getting support from Salezilla was like pulling teeth. Their primary mode of communication was WhatsApp, which felt unprofessional for a B2B service. Scheduling calls was a struggle—our assigned project manager was over 30 minutes late to one meeting and didn’t even apologize.
Worse, the owner, Doug, who had promised accessibility, was nearly impossible to reach. Scheduling a call with him required over a week’s notice, and his availability was often outside of our East Coast business hours.

We were told we could tailor our cold email copy to fit our brand voice. Instead, Salezilla insisted on using their templates, refusing to implement our messaging. This was a major red flag—if we can’t control how we present ourselves to prospects, how can we expect meaningful engagement?

What Could Have Worked (In Theory)
✔ High-Volume Email Sending – The ability to send 10,000 emails/month per account is impressive.
✔ Domain Protection – Their infrastructure claims to safeguard sender reputation, which is crucial.
✔ Analytics Suite – The tracking tools could have been useful… if we had any data to analyze.
Where Salezilla Failed
❌ No Actual Leads – Six months and $10k later, we had nothing to show for it.
❌ Terrible Communication – WhatsApp-only support, late meetings, and unresponsive leadership.
❌ Rigid Messaging – Refusing to use our copy made outreach feel impersonal and ineffective.
Final Thoughts: A Costly Lesson
Salezilla markets itself as a cutting-edge solution for B2B sales teams, but our experience was the opposite. Broken promises, poor communication, and a complete lack of results made this one of the most frustrating investments we’ve made.
