Ring Battery Doorbell Pro Review: Cutting-Edge Features with Room for Improvement
When it comes to home security, few names resonate as strongly as Ring. The Like-New Ring Battery Doorbell Pro in its newest iteration is a refurbished model that promises all the sophistication of a new device. It comes equipped with features such as Two-Way Talk with Audio+, advanced 3D Motion Detection, 1536p HD+ Head-to-Toe Video, and compatibility with Alexa. The Battery Doorbell Pro is designed for those who want a comprehensive security solution, offering an expanded view and evening visibility with low-light sight functionalities. But what do customers really think? Let's delve into the pros and cons of this popular doorbell camera based on user feedback.
Pros and Cons
User-Friendly and Visually Appealing Features
One of the standout features of the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is its visual capability. With 1536p HD+ Video and a Head-to-Toe view, users enjoy a broad and detailed look at those approaching their home. As one ecstatic reviewer mentioned, "These cameras are GREAT, beautiful pictures, so many features you could film a movie." This sentiment captures the high expectations many have for their video doorbells, with the Ring model largely delivering through vivid and expansive video quality.
Another positive aspect is its Person and Package Alerts feature, a practical addition for those who rely on online shopping. A user noted, "Todo lo que buscaba en un timbre cámara desde que lo instale en mi casa ha sido la mejor manera de saber cuando mis paquetes llegan o cuando llega alguien a casa."
The convenience of knowing when a package arrives or when someone is at your door without the need to manually check is a significant advantage.
The Quality vs. Usability Conundrum: Mixed Reviews
Despite high praise for its video capabilities, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro has received mixed responses regarding its usability and performance under specific conditions. Some users have pointed out an inconsistency in video quality with distance. As one review candidly put it, "Response time is slow and video is poor unless within 5 feet." In scenarios where rapid responses and clarity are crucial, this limitation could influence buyer satisfaction.
Another aspect of usability is its quick installation and user-friendly app interface, which has generally attracted positive feedback. The ease of setup extends to connectivity features as well, showing that Ring has paid attention to making user experiences straightforward and seamless.
Battery Life and Power Concerns
Where the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro seems to falter primarily is battery longevity. One frustrated user shared, "The battery life is very short. I had Blink doorbells powered by 2 AA lithium-ion batteries that lasted like five months at my busiest door. These Ring new ones a little over two weeks." This stark contrast highlights a critical consideration for potential buyers who may prioritize long battery life due to their busy schedules or regular travel. To mitigate this, users have resorted to purchasing extra batteries and a dual charger, which adds an extra expense and responsibility.
On the energy front, however, the Battery Doorbell Pro shows an inclination towards sustainability. Promoting a greener approach, Ring ensures that eventually the usage will be met with renewable energy equivalent by 2025. Such initiatives reflect positively on the brand as it navigates consumer critiques concerning immediate functionality.
Additional Equipment and Pricing
While some features of the Battery Doorbell Pro truly justify its status as a premium device, other users have expressed dissatisfaction concerning its pricing. One skeptical reviewer commented, "The difference is not worth the upcharge." This viewpoint might stem from comparisons with previous models or competing brands that potentially offer similar features at a lower cost.
On the other hand, this product's Alexa compatibility—allowing for advanced integration and home automation—is a feature that could sway many towards embracing the Ring ecosystem fully. This expands the device's capabilities and demonstrates its versatility in becoming a central hub for home security.
Conclusion
In summary, the Like-New Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is a sophisticated offering catering to homeowners looking for enhanced surveillance with modern conveniences. It stands out primarily for its superb video quality, usability through a user-centric app, and consideration toward more sustainable energy solutions. However, criticisms about short battery life and its cost relative to competitors can be significant hurdles for some.
Given the array of features and the mixed feedback, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro may best suit those deeply ingrained in the Ring environment or who prioritize cutting-edge technological features over cost-efficiency. As one unhappy user is contemplating other brands, it highlights the importance of thoroughly considering personal requirements and device reviews prior to purchase.
Ultimately, the decision could hinge on whether the features align with individual security needs and budgets, making the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro an investment deeply personal to each user. Customers should weigh the pros and cons—functional brilliance versus battery limitations, premium pricing versus feature richness—before committing to this promising yet nuanced security solution.

Comments from Amazon:
These cameras are GREAT beautiful pictures so many features you could film a move. However the battery life is very short. I had blink door bells powered by 2 AA li ion batteries. They lasted like 5 months at my busiest door. These ring new ones a little over 2 weeks I got extra batteries and a duel charger. I will have to teach everyone house sitters. Grand kids if we go on vacation I made the switch because I had blink doorbells and cameras bit ring security which we love. So I had 2 cloud services both whose charges were going to go up so I had to pick one.

The ring camera honestly is garbage. I bought this one to replace an older model that was doing to same exact thing. No longer a fan of the brand. Will be trying a new brand to replace this one.
Doorbell is nice. Have never had a Ring before. Was not happy with the charger as it does not charge my battery. Didn't find out until after 30 days.
Response time is slow and video is poor unless within 5 feet
The difference is not worth the up charge.
