Comments from Amazon:
This chime works really well. We have it by our kitchen so we can hear our doorbell.
I’m thrilled that they added compatibility for HomeBase 3! Setting up the chime was a breeze—I simply connected the USB extender to the back of my HomeBase and plugged the chime into an outlet where I most needed to hear the doorbell. This add-on significantly enhances the functionality of the HomeBase, especially since mine is tucked away near the router. Having this chime extender is a game changer. It ensures I never miss a visitor, no matter where I am in the house. If you have a Eufy doorbell and a HomeBase, this is a must-have addition. Highly recommended!
It’s a good Bluetooth dongle works good and volume is great the only problem is you can’t have it be the only chime you have to also have your home base enabled as a chime in order to use it also there’s only 5 different chimes to choose from. Previously I had a cheap $20 chime that had 30+ different chimes to choose from but I switched to the eufy doorbell and have to use what they have available. Eufy makes great video doorbells but not much variety when it comes to chimes. That said I love my eufy bell either way.
Third time appears to have been the charm. After buying and subsequently returning the same version of this device which turned out not to work my Homebase 3 (there seems to have been confusion on the part of customers and Eufy staff alike as to comparibility with Homebase 2 versus Homebase 3), THIS DEVICE INSTALLED SEAMLESSLY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. Before getting it right, I had also mistakenly ie confusedly ordered the WIFI version with rabbit ears which didn’t work at all, though I couldn’t return it because the microSD card slot essentially collapsed and the SDcard was sucked into the innards of the device. The slot tray was oh so cheap.
I gave away my $800 Arlo security system so that I could switch to a Eufy Security system. I won’t even begin to explain how amazing Eufy's Clean and Security both are because I’d have to write a novel. I had an unused newer version of the Eufy doorbell Chime that I wanted to pair with the HomeBase 3 and the Eufy chime add on doorbell speaker I purchased. I have the HomeBase 3 in my bedroom, my newer chime in a hallway and the chime add on in my Backyard/BBQ Area. My current doorbell speaker setup always me to hear if someone is at the front door no matter where I am inside or outside of the house. The HomeBase 3 has a much louder speaker than the two chimes I'm using but even if you're just using 1 or 2 chimes they are plenty loud unless you have a large house or are hard of hearing. I do prefer the newer version of the Chime because of the choices for doorbell chime noices but the older add on chime has several choices that aren’t bad if you don’t mind not having seasonal doorbell chimes. I purchased add on chime a few Christmas's ago and I have not had any issues and I'd guess I never will because I have about a few thousand dollars worth of Eufy devices and have not had any hardware issues. I should also mentioned that Eufys customer service is amazing. I scrapped my Arlo security system because I had a faulty hub and their integration with my smart home hardly ever worked. Eufy on the other hand works almost seamlessly with both Homekit and Alexa platforms. The one small issue with Eufy is that I've had to wait for the home kit integrations a few times but that's more of an issue with Apple being stringent about bring devices or features into there ecosystem.
Purchased Eufy Security HomeBase 2 with video camera that works as it is suppose to. Decided to add another indoor chime (the chime sounds only sounds from the HomeBase right now) so the "doorbell" can be heard in the back of the house. Problem is the add-on chime will not chime when the button is pushed at the door. It does, however, chime inexplicably without depressing the doorbell button. While typing this Review the Add-on chime sounded 3 times without depressing the doorbell button. Eufy Security Tech Support has been responsive via email but not helpful in resolving the problem. I have sent, per Eufy Security's request, a copy of the invoice for both the HomeBase 2 and the Add-on Chime. If I don't hear from Tech Support tomorrow with a solution the chime is going back to Amazon.
I am writing this review to confirm that this remote door bell chime works with the “eufy Security Video Doorbell Dual Camera, 2K HD, Wireless, Battery-Powered, HomeBase, Dual Motion Detection, Smart Recognition” model E8213. I couldn’t find anything definitive saying that this would work with the “Dual Camera” version so I want to let folks know that it is indeed compatible. Set up was simple but the manual doesn’t mention all the steps that you need to go through on the app. However, the app walks you through it very well. I think that some of the problems people may be running into are that they don’t have the wireless camera and/or they possibly don’t have a homebase installed. Just a guess on my part. I had it unboxed, installed, linked, adjusted (volume & chine), and tested in less than 15 minutes. I wish everyone as smooth as an experience as had.
