In an era where keeping our homes secure is a top priority, smart security systems have emerged as invaluable assets for homeowners. The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera + Video Doorbell with Sync Module 2 is one such product, promising comprehensive surveillance with its innovative features. It offers two-way audio, HD day and night video, motion detection, and seamless integration with Alexa. With 2600 lumens of LED lighting, enhanced motion detection capabilities, and a built-in security siren, this system ensures your home is under vigilant surveillance day and night. Moreover, with the optional Blink Subscription Plan, users can enjoy additional features like CV person detection for enhanced security measures. How does it fare in reality? Let's delve deeper.
Pros and Cons
Quality and Usability
According to some enthusiastic users, the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera + Video Doorbell is marked by outstanding quality and user-friendliness. Many users, like a couple who have incorporated multiple devices, highlight its intuitive nature: "Very user friendly. Night vision. Motion and person detection." Additionally, the setup process seems to be hassle-free, with another customer pointing out, "Easy to install, setup, and operate."
However, not all experiences were smooth sailing. One user reported an issue with their first unit that did not connect to WiFi. Fortunately, the customer service swiftly managed to resolve the issue by sending a replacement unit that functioned seamlessly. This emphasizes the importance of quality customer service in ensuring user satisfaction.
Features and Performance
The features of the product have largely impressed users. The exceptional floodlighting, for instance, received praise for its brightness: "Flood lights put out very good lighting. No issues at all!" The floodlights ensure clear color viewing even at night, a feature that users have found extremely beneficial.
While the floodlight camera earned a solid ‘5 out of 5’ from one user, a few technical hiccups were noted by users leveraging local storage. Specifically, some have noticed that while the videos are excellent, thumbnails for recorded clips can be blank when not using a cloud subscription. "They can be a little slower to load but in my opinion, that is okay given the money saved," remarks a cost-conscious user.
Moreover, the system holds up well in synchronizing with existing Blink systems, enhancing the overall smart home experience. "Easily Added to my blink system needed a garage light and this has a bright lamp worked out great," reflects the satisfaction with integration capabilities.
Despite these high ratings, it's important to note that some face intermittent connectivity issues, with devices occasionally going offline without an apparent reason.
Durability
Durability often determines the product's value over time. The robust build of the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera appears promising for long-term effectiveness. It ensures consistent functionality—even in challenging weather—as reported by users who have installed it in various outdoor settings.
A key testament to its durability is its success in maintaining a consistent service even amidst fluctuating network conditions. Users have reported stable performances once the camera is successfully linked to WiFi, which further underscores its practical value: "Great Customer Service and tried to troubleshoot the 1st one and when we couldn't get it to connect, they immediately Sent a replacement."
However, as with many tech products requiring network connectivity, users are advised to maintain a strong network signal to prevent potential downtime.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera + Video Doorbell is a formidable contender in the realm of home security systems. Its strong lighting capabilities, intuitive app features, and wireless options provide immense value. The pros heavily outweigh the cons: efficient customer support, top-notch day and night video clarity, and easy installation make it a preferred choice for many homeowners.
Nonetheless, prospective users should consider potential connectivity constraints and weigh the value of subscribing to the Blink Subscription Plan for enhanced functionalities. Though occasional technical issues may arise, users seem to appreciate the significant money-saving potential by opting for local storage solutions.
All told, given the overall customer experience and the product's impressive features, the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera + Video Doorbell gets a solid recommendation for anyone looking to bolster their home security system.

Comments from Amazon:
I have hard wired floods, battery doorbell, usb cable mini powered units. All work as advertised. Easy to install, setup and operate.
Easily Added to my blink system needed a garage light and this has a bright lamp worked out great.
What is the value of having your house monitored 24x7. With the sync module there is no subscription fee. The only draw back vs the subscription that I have experienced is the thumbnails for recorded clips are blank but the videos are great. they can be a little slower to load but In my opinion that is okay given the money saved by not storing clips in the cloud with a subscription fee
Works as advertised with plan but its slow or won't show video with just a thumb-drive. Give the flood camera a 5 out of 5. Extra bright making clear color viewing at night.
1st one was Flawed (Flood Light/Camera) - Didn't Connect to WiFi. Great Customer Service and tried to troubleshoot the 1st one and when we couldn't get it to connect, they immediately Sent a replacement & WORKS AWESOME!! But the DoorBell Camera & Flood light install was easy once you get the wi-fi connection - then you are Golden. Its great to see who is at my front and door. The Backyard to my Hot Tub is the Wired Flood light/Camera and was key for security-wise to see.
Have had problems with this going off line for no apparent reason
We have a few of these now and my wife and I absolutely love them! Very user friendly. Night vision. Motion and person detection. Flood lights put out very good lighting. No issues at all!
