-
Chime Included: The package comes with a plug-and-play chime, eliminating the need to purchase additional hardware, and it connects without needing an Ethernet cable.
Cons:
-
Size Constraints: A few users found the camera's larger size to be incompatible with certain mounting options, mainly when dealing with special door setups like Dutch lap siding.
-
Limited Holder Options: For renters, finding appropriate holders for non-permanent installations can be tricky, which is slightly inconvenient for a camera taller than alternatives.
Video and Sound Quality
One of the main draws of the AOSU Doorbell Camera is its outstanding video clarity and reliable audio capabilities. Here’s a closer look at user experiences with the camera's core functionalities.

-
Sound Clarity: Customers are delighted with the "clear and audible sound quality," making two-way communication seamless.
Cons:
-
Occasional Delays: While the motion detection is generally praised, few users noted sometimes experiencing a "delayed recording or early cutoff of the clips," leading to occasional gaps in footage.
-
Nighttime Limitations: Though the camera performs well at night, one user noted the lack of a spotlight for dark environments, which might be a drawback compared to some high-end models.
Battery and Durability
AOSU's impressive 180-day battery life is a significant selling point, coupled with its durable construction that ensures long-term reliability.
Pros:
-
Long Battery Life: Several customers report that the “battery lasts 2-3 months even under regular use," contributing to its appeal in terms of low maintenance.
-
Durability and Build Quality: With an IP66 rating, the doorbell withstands various weather conditions, which users find reassuring for outdoor installation.
Cons:
-
Longevity Concerns: Some users expressed concerns over the doorbell's longevity, citing instances where the camera went offline after about a year of use, though the positive customer service experience often resolved these issues.
-
Battery Dependency: While the battery life is generally well-received, it might still require monitoring, especially in high-traffic areas, to ensure continuous operation.

Comments from Amazon:
After waaaaaay too much research that involved reading reviews by sites like CNET and PCMag, reading consumer reviews, and putting everything in spreadsheets, I decided on this doorbell camera. It has the functions I wanted except for a nighttime spotlight (which only one doorbell camera on Amazon has). All pros, no cons: 1. Easy set up; app is responsive and easy to navigate. 2. Doesn't need a hub or base. 3. Comes with door chime; chime just needs to be plugged into an outlet, no need to be connected with ethernet cable. 4. Local storage on SD card; the slot is in the door chime. No subscription required, but you can pay for cloud storage. Manufacturer does provide free cloud storage of a still picture of the most recent event detected. 5. The AI detection is accurate; picks up on people but not dogs (of which there are many in my neighborhood and many walk past my door regularly). 5. Color pics and vids at night, if I turn on the porch light. Pics and vids are very clear during the day and at night (whether in color or infrared). I can zoom in on a pic or vid and just about make out the house number of my neighbor across the street. I didn't want to use the provided mounting brackets and screws, so I used 3M Command strips instead (the ones made for outdoor use). Unsure about longevity of the camera or battery life because I've only had it for about a month. However, based on my observations so far, this is a great doorbell camera. YMMV.
I was looking for a camera for my new apartment and I just couldn't get this one to work. It's not really the cameras fault. It is taller than other cameras so finding a holder was really difficult. I wanted a camera that didn't require a subscription. I also needed a non-permanent installation because I rent. My front door is set back into the door frame so if I used a door clamp style holder, the picture would get cut off. Plus there was only 1 holder I could find that would fit this camera and my door. My apartment has dutch lap siding which means I couldn't find a holder to fit the siding and the camera. I tried using command strips to mount it to the door itself which worked fine. But it still didn't catch any movement unless it happened directly in front of the camera. So it would alert to me going in and out of my apartment but not the mail carrier going up and down the stairs off to the right. Could be the camera, could be the location of installation. Setting the camera up in the app was really easy. It connected to the hub quickly. I did find out that you can't have 2 cameras on the same hub. So if you had a front and back door, you'd have to get 2 separate cameras and hubs. I was also able to delete the information off the app very easily when I decided to return it. The picture is good, no complaints there. I tried the doorbell and it worked well, the hub is pretty loud. You can change the volume in the app. There's a chat in the app to ask questions and they respond pretty quickly. You have to buy a separate microSD card for the hub to store video which I liked. In the end the camera was fine, price was affordable, no subscription, but a weird size. Plus it just didn't work in my situation. I think what I really want are security cameras.
I purchased this 2K security camera system (3 outdoor cameras with solar panels and this doorbell camera) almost 2 years ago because I wanted a camera with internal memory so I didn’t have to pay a monthly fee to see my video recordings. The setup was straightforward and easy, but I immediately noticed an issue with the sound feed to one of the cameras. It was easy to reach out to their customer service via the app, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they responded. The support team was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help resolve the problem. Despite trying a few troubleshooting steps, the issue persisted. Without hesitation, they offered to replace the equipment. The replacement process was seamless, and the new camera has been working flawlessly ever since. Then recently, I was having an issue with downloading and replaying the video clips on my doorbell camera. I reached out to Aosu customer service again and was once again impressed with them. They sent me a new doorbell after a year and a half and I have had no issues with it since. The video feed on the Aosu 2K cameras and doorbell are very clear with a beautiful picture and the sound is very clear. There are many options on the motion section range and you can even tell it to record only humans. I am very pleased with the quality of these cameras and my choice to purchase a whole outdoor set to cover my property from them. It’s rare to find a company that stands so firmly behind their product, and I’m impressed by their commitment to customer satisfaction. If you’re looking for a reliable security camera backed by excellent customer service, I highly recommend this one.
Very easy to install, works very well. Battery lasts 2-3 months, it would probably last a lot longer if i would enable power savings. Charging the battery is easy and quick so i am not worried about using power savings. Camera is clear and the sound is good. Motion detection is usually good, with the occasional delayed recording or early cutoff of the clips. (Occasionally miss the first second or so) but this could be caused by how my door layout is. Overall i’d say its a great price for a doorbell camera.
I purchased this device originally in 2023, but there was a malfunction, and when I contacted Aosu support they did not hesitate and immediately sent me a replacement device! I find their support and customer service to be exceptional! The wireless doorbell camera also works really well. The video quality is great, and the setup was super easy. Highly recommend!
The cole's notes: - Camera quality is high - Extremely easy to use and install - Easy to connect to existing wifi - App is relatively user friendly - Really good customer service I bought this 13 months ago and I was super impressed with it overall from a usability and quality perspective. All of a sudden, the camera went offline and couldn't be reconnected. I worked with my internet provider who advised after extensive review, determined it was the camera's issue. I reached out via email to AOSU customer support and Lynette was very helpful. After discussion, she agreed to send a replacement camera even though the warranty time had expired. Ultimately, if buying a camera such as this, I would expect it to work for more than 13 months. Ultimately, this is a solid camera that is easy to use and cost effective. Customer service is reliable. I would recommend this product. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that a camera was not usable after 13 months, but very happy that it was replaced.
I got tired of Ring increasing prices while decreasing service so I decided to give this a try. It was very easy to install, easy to setup on the wi-fi, and works perfectly. The video is clear and in full color during the day and at night. Adding a memory card eliminates the need for the cloud storage service. The one time investment of this video doorbell and a memory card is absolutely worth it.
